In earlier years she often travelled to other centres where it was perceived that valuable museum management and collecting practice information was being discussed.
She can be justly proud of being part of the team that has brought Eden Killer Whale Museum from the 36 feet by 24 feet building featuring (mainly) Old Tom, following the steps of the originators, to what is EKWM today with its vastly extended and diverse collection, modern conservation processes and the visitor comforts that have come along with it.
Over the years, Jenny has also taken a keen interest in the South Eastern Historical Group, the regional body for museums and other history gathering groups.
Men’s Shed
Eden Men’s Shed will be open all the normal times during the holidays, i.e. Wednesday and Friday mornings. All blokes are invited to come to have a look at us, share a cuppa, and maybe join. Visiting Shedders are particularly welcome. More information, Jack on 0407 963 036.

Pet of the week
Sookie (pictured) is an 18-month-old Jack Russell cross and is a very sweet girl. She is good with other dogs, is wonderful with the kids or would make a great companion for a retired couple.
She needs to go for her walks and loves the beach. She is desperate for a kind and loving home where she will have lots of company.
Some training is still required, but she would be very easy to train as she is a very smart girl.
Inquiries about Sookie or Willow the female two-year-old medium sized mixed breed, Ricco the black and white 2.5-year-old male dog, Radar the tan and merle mixed breed male, Bobbi the eight-month-old Boxer cross, Kescha the 10-week-old mixed breed pup, Chase the two-year-old golden retriever cross border collie or Inca the eight-year-old Malamute can be made by phoning Animal Welfare League Far South Coast Branch on 0400 372 609. Check www.facebook.com/AnimalWelfareLeagueFarSouthCoastBranch for more details.
Cats and kittens are available by calling Sapphire Coast Branch of RSPCA on 0419 267 799 or can be viewed on Sapphire Coast branch of RSPCA Facebook page. All cats and dogs are de-sexed, microchipped, immunised and wormed and treated for fleas before re-homing.
Calendars available
There are still some copies of the Calendar of Second Chances featuring many of the pets that were rehomed by the Far South Coast Branch of AWLNSW over the past year. It’s a great Christmas gift at only $20 and copies can be picked up at all Bega Valley Shire vets, Coastal Grooming Merimbula and The Country K9 Parlour Cobargo. Or to have copies sent, email awlfsc@bigpond.com.
Summer pet safety
With the weather heating up pet owners need to be aware of the dangers of leaving animals in cars. It is amazing how quickly the car heats up in a matter of minutes even under the shade of trees. Please leave pets at home if you intend to leave your car without them.
