Eden Lionesses catered for the evening leaving no-one in doubt as to their culinary skills and ability to add a certain something to a local function.
Highlight of the evening was the awarding of EKWM’s Leviathan Award to Gwen and Ross Dobbyns. The award is presented in recognition for service to the museum in particular, but also to the local community.
It has been termed Leviathan as in our minds it is biggest thank you that we can pass on to these valuable people,” EKWM president Jack Dickenson said.
Undoubtedly volunteers are the soul of local organisations. Many serve while few are recognised for their efforts. With this in mind, the executive panel of the museum decided they would try to redress this somewhat on their “own patch”.
Gwen and Ross are well deserving recipients. They have not only supported Eden Museum over many years, but have unstintingly given of their time to such bodies as Nullica Lodge, Art on Imlay, Eden Men’s Shed and the coastal patrol to name a few.
Reliability and dedication is always present, as is the benefit of their wisdom, while they quietly work along to see the job of the day completed successfully done and the organisation progress
