The 24 volunteers train once a week to maintain skill compliance in all areas of recovery. They are responsible for a large zone from Mallacoota to Tura Beach and Mount Darragh, and work in co-operation with fire services and water police.
When Lisa Williams and Pam Cocks were guest speakers at the Rotary Club of Pambula, representing SES Eden, they did say that often their job is made more difficult by inappropriate or inadequate equipment. One such item that they found invaluable is a portable spotlight, the only problem was, they only have one. So a motion was made by the Rotary Club of Pambula to provide funds for the purchase of 5 more portable spotlights. This was carried unanimously.
When the new spotlights were delivered, the SES Eden group invited the Rotary Club of Pambula to an evening training session and BBQ to show their appreciation; and to give a demonstration of the use of 6 spotlights in a night time reduce.
