An information session with be held at EVIC, on the corner of the Princes Highway and Mitchell Street, at 5pm on Wednesday, October 18, for people to come to have a look around the centre and discuss what is involved in being a volunteer.
EVIC manager Deb Richardson said the centre played an important role in Eden’s prosperity and it relied on its volunteers to offer this important service to the community and visitors.
“Volunteering with the visitors’ centre is a great way of adding variety to your life by sharing your passion for our town and region with our visitors, tourists and locals alike,” Ms Richardson said.
“If you are outgoing, enthusiastic and willing to learn then you will love being at the centre,” she said.
Part of the volunteer duties will be to help out with visiting cruise ships.
Ms Richardson said there were benefits to becoming a volunteer at the centre.
“Highlights of the job include a wonderful working environment with fantastic team members; social interaction with tourists, locals and staff; and, promoting and supporting all businesses and events in Eden and the Sapphire Coast area,” she said.
“If you can offer at least four hours per week we would love to talk to you,” she said.
