Merimbula Bay will make way for a flotilla of ocean craft this Saturday as lifesaver and members of the public take to the water to contest the annual Club To Pub event hosted by Pambula Surf Life Saving Club.

Contestants will row surf boats, paddle skis and stand-up paddle boards over a10km course starting at Pambula Beach at 9.30 and heading east to Haycock Point and across to Merimbula Bar. The event will finish at the Merimbula Marina jetty.
Organiser, Chris Briggs, said there had been a lot of interest in the event and advised all contestants of th importance of attending the race briefing at Pambula SLSC at 8.30am.
The host club of Pambula are already entering a number of surf boats and ski paddlers, while the Tathra Surf Life Saving Club is also a strong contender with surfboat and ski entries, while Narooma are also strong contenders.
Organisers said the Club to Pub is hugely popular and will draw entries from as far afield as Sydney and Victoria.
“There will be great competition in the men’s and ladies surf boat categories,” an event spokesman said.
The Club To Pub also allows for non-surf club entries in the ski and paddle board sections and people wanting to paddle can enter prior to the via the Pambula SLSC website.
Or you can turn at the Pambula Surf Club on the day, no later than 8am to confirm registration.
Officials said a number of local businesses had thrown their support behind the event as it continues to grow with a host of prizes up for grabs during the presentations.
