About 1.50am on Tuesday, NSW Fire and Rescue and police were called out to the house on Endeavour Court after a neighbour heard noise outside and saw that the house was alight.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, but unfortunately the fire had spread throughout the home and the house sustained substantial damage both internally and on the outside.
Police set up a crime scene around the house until the forensics team arrived around 10am.
Detectives from Bega attended the scene and spoke with a number of people in the area.
Far South Coast Chief Inspector Anthony Moodie said while the house was not abandoned, there hadn’t been anyone living there for a number of weeks and as such they don’t believe anyone was injured.
Inspector Moodie said at this stage the source of the fire is undetermined, but police are treating the fire as suspicious and encourage anyone in the public with information to come forward by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or Eden Police on 6496 1444.
