The McGrath Foundation funds 117 breast care nurses – including Bega’s Jenny Garner – and since 2005 they have supported more than 50,000 families across Australia.
About 17,000 women and 150 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every year.
Fundraisers could include a pyjama party or free-dress day at school.
Pull On Your Socks plays an essential role in helping raise funds to achieve the foundation’s mission of ensuring every family impacted by breast cancer has access to a free dedicated breast care nurse, no matter where they live.
Breast care nurses not only provide physical support, but also act as friends and advocates for people experiencing breast cancer.
