Rhythm guitarist John Brewster says Rick was unexpectedly admitted to hospital this week with an infection and is receiving IV antibiotics.
“Rick is receiving the best treatment and is hopeful to be released from hospital in the next few days,” he says.
“He is obviously really upset about having to cancel this weekend’s shows, but the most important thing now is that he rests and gets the treatment he needs to recouperate. All the band are thinking of Rick and wishing him a speedy recovery.”
The NSW tour dates, the second last weekend in the run that began at the start of March, will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
John says both shows are in the process of being rescheduled.
“We have immediately started working on finding alternative dates for the Merimbula and Goulburn shows,” he said.
“We were really looking forward to the 4x4 dates this weekend and don’t want those music fans who had bought tickets to miss out. We thank everyone for their understanding for the postponement and look forward to finalising new show dates as soon as possible.
“At this stage, Rick is anticipating that he will be out of hospital and on stage in Victoria next week.”
More details on the rescheduled show dates for Merimbula and Goulburn will be announced shortly.
Ticketholders are encouraged to hold on to their tickets which will be valid for the new dates. Any queries regarding reissue of tickets can be directed the point of purchase.
Any changes to the South Morang and Mulgrave dates for next weekend will be announced in the coming days.
