Mallacoota’s annual fundraising event for the community’s pre-school has been run and won, with 251 participants lining up for the 3km, 5km, 10km and half-marathon events on Sunday, March 12.

Far South Coast runners dominated the line honours at the Mallacoota Fun Run which organisers hope will raise $10,000 to cover a shortfall in Victorian government funding.
Local competitors included Ruby Woodger, of Pambula, who won the U13 female 5km event in 00:30:06.0, Kamilla Grubesci, Eden, won the 18-39 years female 5km in 00:26:37.9, Lisa Lukassen, Merimbula, was a quick 00:24:54.9 in the 40-59 years female 5km, Glenn Edmonds, Bega, ran a fast 00:21:27.2 in the 40-59 years male 5km, Katrina Oldham, Wolumla, came first in the 18-39 years female 10km in 00:54:09.9, Tamie Roscoe, Wallagoot, won the 18-39 years women’s half marathon in 1:59:14.9, Kyle Bourke, Bega, won the 18-39 years men’s half marathon in 01:24:23.6 and Donella Roberts, Merimbula, won the 40-59 years female half marathon in 02:02:58.9.
