“The vouchers will entitle holders to visit a local recycling and waste depot and dispose of either a cubic metre of general waste, two cubic metres of garden waste, or up to two innerspring mattresses,” Waste Services manager, Toby Browne said.
Eden residents wishing to drop off garden waste should use the Eden depot, and to get the best value from your free voucher, always separate recyclable waste from general waste.
“There is also an option to drop off a combination of general and garden waste provided the waste types are separated, and the dollar value of the load does not exceed the equivalent of one cubic metre of general waste.
“If you’re clearing up the shed or garden and wondering what a cubic metre of waste looks like, a general guide is a level 6x4 trailer or ute load.
“Restrictions on certain waste types apply,” Mr Browne said.
“A voucher can be used for payment of part of a load subject to the terms of use printed on the voucher. However, a voucher cannot be used to pay for multiple loads.”
Residents are reminded there is no charge in dropping off scrap metal items like fridges, stoves and car bodies and to be aware of the revised opening hours at the Eden depot.
