We hold the event annually between the two clubs.
About 30 people from our club ventured up the highway for two fun days of fishing around their many large lakes.
Teams were made up from both clubs and, with the weather forecast not looking good, it was an early start on the water.
Nearly all fish caught for the day were measured and returned back to their habitat.
Some of our fishermen from Eden found these were new waters they ventured into, so the pressure was on.
The catch of the day was a flathead measuring 85cm caught and released by Eden’s Wayne Holding.
Our fearless leader, our president, who will remain nameless, happened to do some rock fishing from his boat, while in his boat with his wife.
He managed to drive up onto a submerged rock, leaving him somewhat embarrassed and the incident wrecked his propeller just to add insult to injury.
Apart from that some good fish were measured by many anglers with the winning team coming from Tuross.
Finally, fishing has been quite good in our own bay with good flathead being caught closer in around the shoreline.
Leather jackets are still a problem to the angler, so you need to keep moving until you find a patch without them.
There are plenty of bait schools in, and around, the bay in very large numbers currently, so watch for the birds working the water.
Cast a line in around the bait balls for a catch of good size salmon.
Parents are encouraged to take the kids along to Snug Cove to fish off the wharf, for what will be an entertaining afternoon.
It lets the kids get hours of entertainment and they can catch a good supply of slimy mackerels.
Good fishing, and tight lines.
