The year was 1998, and in Eden, these good folk were in the news, while on the world stage, technology was king.
Windows 98 was released by Microsoft, Google was founded, Apple unveiled the iMac, and e-commerce starts to take off as more and more companies create websites.
It was World Cup time in France and the opening concert by the three tenors, Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti is seen by 100,000 live, and by three billion people around the world.
At the box office we flocked to see Armageddon, Titanic, Saving Private Ryan and There’s Something About Mary.
We were humming along to Too Close by Next, The Boy Is Mine by Brandy and Monica, You're Still The One by Shania Twain and Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden.
Please explain? On October 3, with the help of One Nation preferences, John Howard’s Liberal/National Coalition government is re-elected in the Federal Election.
