Members of the Eden community took advantage of Dr Hendy’s visit to Eden on Tuesday to talk to the MP about plans to establish a walkway from the RSL hall to the Eden cenotaph.

Secretary Steve Mahoney said the walkway would not only be a fitting way to mark the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign, but would also make it easier for veterans and their families to walk between the two sites.
This project is on top of a state funded project currently underway to upgrade the cenotaph to make it more user friendly for veterans and their families, particularly those who are getting on in years.
Eden is hoping to attract a slice of the funding pie available for Anzac related projects this year.
The walkway would include a time-line with references to the involvement of Eden in World War 1.
