With the annual Owen Alan Trophy on the line, Eden cricket stalwart Drew Mudaliar is hoping to again see eight teams contest the prize.
“The club is seeking nominations with the hope of again fielding eight sides,” Mudaliar said.
He said the club would run the event as a round robin with the aims of teams playing two games each.
“We want them to play at least two games each in an eight-a-side format.
“Everyone bowls in the eight over games,” he said.
Mudaliar said the tournament is a great day out and is very family friendly with teams able to field women and children.
“Runs scored by female players are doubled and juniors are welcome.”
Mudaliar said the day would be fun for even those not playing with a barbecue and some activities planned for the young cricketers.
Registrations cost $100 per team of eight.
“The winning side chooses a charity to receive $500,” Mudaliar said.
Now run as a tradition the day has been heralded as a massive success in previous years and the club is looking forward to another great day out this year.
“In the past this has been a great day and the club is hoping for the same turnout,” Mudaliar said.
