Talia was one of 36 year 11 students from the Wollongong region and only one from the Far South Coast to be recognised at the award ceremony on November 16 at Figtree High School, Wollongong.
In her preliminary year Talia has achieved first place in chemistry, biology, PDHPE, mathematics and extension one mathematics.
Further to her academic achievements, she has represented Eden Marine High School, the region and the state in a variety of sports including soccer and futsal.
Talia, who has a keen interest in pursuing a career in neurology via a medical sciences pathway, was nominated for the award by her teachers.
The winners from Wollongong schools will join more than 200 students from across NSW on a tour of the Victor Chang Institute and have the opportunity to learn firsthand from world-renowned scientists.
