The pair joined Bega’s Jade Allen as the team kick-started its account in great style, defeating Illawarra by nine wickets in the first of four Twenty20 matches.
Mudaliar (2/3) and Allen (2/14) starred with the ball, while Pollock sustained a shoulder injury that restricted her to wicketkeeping duties for the remainder of the two-day tournament.
The team could not back up its solid performance in the second round against the New Coasters.
Allen nabbed the sole wicket as the opposition piled on 116 runs before dismissing ACT Southern by eight runs in a close affair.
The team lost another encounter to Western by 21 runs, but managed to knock off Riverina by nine wickets in its final match, with Mudaliar claiming 2/6 off three overs.
Mudaliar’s strong tournament saw her finish among the top wicket-takers in her grade, but that wasn’t enough to land a selection NSW Country side.
Eden Cricket Club’s Drew Mudaliar said while his daughter was disappointed on missing out on selection, she was happy with her overall performance.
“She bowled really well,” he said.
“She did everything she could do to push her cause, bowling three maidens and not one sundry.”
Despite Pollock’s injury, she still managed a few catches and a stumping behind the wickets.
It was Pollock’s first appearance for ACT Southern and Mudaliar’s second.
The pair with will continue training with the ACT Meteors under 13s and 15s respectively, while Mudaliar will play with the Far South Coast Cricket Association under 14s representative team.
The Meteors’ training program stretches from the Far South Coast north to Goulburn and includes the whole Canberra region.
Meanwhile the ACT Southern under 18s toiled in their four matches, going winless despite some strong individual performances.
Allen again bobbed up with a few wickets, while Wolumla’s Janet King also featured.
