The MV Mersey sailed up to the Port of Eden courtesy of Svitzer a few months ago.
Its presence was officially celebrated by Cruise Eden representatives and other maritime customers.
Local government officials and crew members were also present, including those that sailed the Mersey from Tasmania to Eden.
The pilot cutter was built in 1991 with a length of 13.2m and the ability to reach speeds of 20 knots.
It is equipped to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of a pilot to and from vessels entering and leaving the port.
The vessel will be particularly important for cruise ships as they are able to maintain the required speed to safely and efficiently enter or exit the port.
