When Eden Elder Uncle Ossie Cruse met with Malcolm Turnbull on the 2016 election campaign trail, he never thought it would set off a chain of events that would see him fall in love.
At the time, Mr Cruse said he was disappointed the media had focused on his gumleaf playing and not the important social issues he had broached with the Prime Minister.
However, later that night, on the other side of the country, Western Australian leaf music expert Robin Ryan was watching footage of Mr Cruse playing a gumleaf for the PM.
Intrigued at how she had never met Mr Cruse despite her extensive research into South Eastern Australian players, including the Wallaga Lake Gumleaf Band, Dr Ryan eventually made contact with Mr Cruse.
The pair soon decided to marry, and on Saturday, September 16, tied the knot in Eden in front of family and friends.
If not for the visit to the region of media, hot on the tail of the Prime Minister, the couple may never have met.
