The second-placed Eden ladies comfortably took control of their match over the Merimbula Diggers at Berrambool Oval.
The Whalers ladies kept the hosts scoreless in a competition masterclass, running away with the win 15-15-105 to 0-0-0.
It was regular Eden danger player Kamilla Grubesic doing damage on the scoreboard with her four goal haul.
Close behind was Maggie Brown, who kicked three.
Meanwhile, Tyler Crowe and Tammy Whitford were both strong contributors, kicking two goals each.
The visitors were in control from the outset, kicking a three-goal first quarter, while a handful of behinds put them ahead by 23 points at the break.
The margin was extended to nearly 50 by the main break as the Whalers dominated every passage of play.
However, proving their fitness and quality in the goal square, the final quarter was the strongest for the Whalers – piling on five goals to wrap up a 100-point thumping of their opponent.
Unfortunately, the Eden seniors faced a reversal of the result, with Merimbula claiming a solid win.
The final scored favoured the hosts 22-9-141 to 3-4-22.
It was a trio of the Merimbula front men doing most of the damage on the scoreboard as Dylan Jordan, Dan Edwards and Scott Richmond kicked five goals each.
A dominant midfield display meant the hosts were surging ahead from the outset, kicking to a 46-point lead in the opening quarter.
But the display also kept possession clear from Eden’s forward line and by the main break the visitors had a solitary behind on the board.
With Ian Radford joining in the scoring frenzy, the Diggers had established an unassailable lead by three-quarter time.
Eden was able to fire back in the final quarter, but couldn’t reel in the big difference in points.
Goals for the Whalers went to Luke Grewar, Isaac Walker and Dylan Wheeler.
Five rounds remain in the regular SCAFL season with the Whalers ladies an early candidate for the premiership.
The Whalers will host the Narooma Saturday with women’s to run from 1.10pm and seniors at 2.30pm.
