Taking place at the Eden Cup races, the Sapphire Coast Turf Club will also host a Christmas In July Luncheon with $10 from every adult luncheon ticket purchased being donated to Eden’s Christmas On Imlay.
On top of this the Turf Club is also hosting a month-long Canned Food Collection drive.
All food collected will be donated to Sapphire Coast Oz Harvest which will then be distributed to local charities and families in need in the Bega Valley.
Sponsorship, Marketing and Events manager Jess Ryan said they wanted to do something to give back to the town of Eden and couldn’t think of a better way than by supporting the much-loved Christmas on Imlay event.
The Eden Cup and the Christmas in July event will all take place at the Sapphire Turf Club on Sunday, July 30.
Adult tickets are $55, which includes the $10 donation to Christmas on Imlay, entry to the races, a delicious two-course Christmas lunch and two complimentary drinks.
Kids under 16 are more than welcome, for them the cost is only $10 and included in their ticket is chicken nuggets, chips and a poppa.
To make the day even more special, Santa has agreed to leave his wintry paradise in the North Pole to make an appearance at the races and meet some of the local kids. There will also be a free jumping castle which is sure to keep keep the children entertained.
Ms Ryan has requested that people RSVP by July 25 for catering purposes.
Collection bins for the canned food drive will be in Eden IGA, Sprout Eden, Pambula Bendigo Bank, Pambula Post Office, Merimbula News Weekly, Merimbula Health & Fitness and Wyndham General Store from July 1 until Saturday July 29.
People are encouraged to give generously knowing that all food will be kept in the local area.
