The Whalers were on top of the contest early before conceding a goal to an unfortunate 50-metre penalty.
However, the Whalers resumed control in the second quarter, with a late goal putting them ahead 19-17 at the main break.
However, the Sea Eagles found a second wind in the third and final quarters, running away with the score to down the visitors 10-8-68 to 3-1-19.
Play was focused around the middle, but the centre and flankers from both outfits had a fair bit of movement as play swept from end to end.
Eden regularly used their big kicking range to their best advantage, forcing the Eagles to busily contest possession to the middle and prevent rapid forward movement from the visitors.
It was in the later stages where the Sea Eagles truly rallied, denying Eden kicking opportunities to the front and keeping the visitors scoreless for the last two periods.
In the second half, the hosts began capitalising on every chance they could muster, rallying the troops through the middle to make forward plays and quickly began piling on goals.
Tammy Whitford was causing havoc for the Whalers, finding herself plenty of free space, while the Mitchell sisters, Ally Crowe and Kamilla Grubesic all had fantastic outings through the midfield.
Due to the immense speed and vigorous contest from the Sea Eagles, Eden was unable to fire any scoring kicks in the second half, narrowly missing a couple of opportunities when they got close.
The senior fixture was high-energy early, but the Whalers could not match pace with the hosts as the Sea Eagles claimed a comfortable win 28-19-187 to 4-4-28.
Early passages featured Eden working hard to contain the Eagles, clinching a few hotly contested marks and even intercepting a few kicks.
However, the visitors struggled to block shots within the 50 from making the posts as the Sea Eagles still found room to kick goals from the outset.
The in-form Dean Gartside led the charge on the scoreboard with a 10-goal haul, while Blake Grant was also impressive with six to his name.
Nick Forester and Louis Coulton settled into good rhythm on the flanks where they kicked three apiece alongside Kevin Dixon.
The Sea Eagles were also well-served by captain Luke Taylor who hussled play out of the middle, while Jarrod Palmer went in to the backlines and swept plenty of ball clear for the hosts.
