Which pool, or pools, each has tendered for remains confidential at this stage of discussions, but the six submissions are now on public display in the Bega Valley Shire Council office foyer area.
The tender submissions, in alphabetical order, are:
Belgravia Leisure;
Evaleigh Pty Ltd;
Harris Aquatics Pty Ltd;
Lifeguarding Services Australia;
Motion Aquatic Operations; and
Swansali Pty Ltd.
This is only a list of submissions as no formal assessment or evaluation process has begun yet.
The call for tenders followed last year’s council-commissioned review of its public swimming pools by consultants, which found that patronage was low and declining at Eden and Bemboka in particular.
Recommendations will be referred to council for consideration in June.
The Sapphire Aquatic Centre in Pambula is excluded from the tender, with council confirming its intention to continue running it.
