OPEN GARDENS
We are looking for anyone who would like to have their garden 'open to the public' on October 28 and 29 for our annual Open Garden event. This event, held on the weekend prior to the Whale Festival, has proved to be extremely popular with gardening enthusiasts. Funds raised go towards supporting our local community. Meals on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels Roster for the week starting Monday May 29 is as follows: Monday, Mei and Howard Hill, Tuesday Julie Ristanovic and Jenny Cole, Wednesday Sue Spink and Val Cartledge, Thursday Rose and Jack Dickenson, Friday Mary Mitchell.

Craft for Beginners
The Eden Access Centre will be presenting a number of Basic Paper Craft for Beginners workshops . The first workshop was on Wednesday, May 24 but there will be eight sessions in total held fortnightly. Members will be asked to give a $2 donation each session, towards the use of materials from our Access Centre Craft Cupboard. The course of classes will be held from 10am until 12.30pm at the Meeting Room at the Eden Library (adjacent to the Access Centre).
There is no need for you to have any prior experience in card making or paper craft, however we will ask you to bring a few things along to each class, eg pencil, eraser, scissors, metal ruler, and craft knife.
If interested, please drop in to the Access Centre to pop your name and phone number or email address on a list, so that we can ascertain how many people to cater for. We will probably cap the group at 8 (maximum).

Wyndham market
Be among the happy shoppers at this months friendly Wyndham Village Market on Sunday May 28 from 8.30am to 1pm.
Gather with friends and family in the warmth of the supper room filled with the nostalgic smell of hot scones as they emerge freshly baked from the oven to your plate. Or perhaps a bacon and egg roll from the barbeque is more to your liking, all to benefit the Rural Fire Brigade.
Grab a great coffee and fill your bags with all your favorite organic, locally grown and produced goods, items handmade with love and more, then head to the sports ground where you can catch up with old friends while soaking up the sounds of Jingera Rock Music from 1pm.
Come one, come all to this open mic afternoon where all musicians, poets, comedians and story tellers are encouraged to entertain.

District garden club
The Merimbula and District Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Saturday, May 27 at the Merimbula RSL. Graham Gray is a local orchid enthusiast and will speak to us and share his knowledge. Our autumn foliage and berry collections last meeting was successful and we agreed to repeat this in May so please bring examples to celebrate autumn. We welcome visitors and new members, so come and join us at 10.15am and get some goodies from the trading table, have some morning tea, and maybe win the raffle prize.
High Tea for Dane
On Sunday, May 28 from 3pm, a sumptuous High Tea will be held at Wheeler’s for Dane’s Dream. Bookings are essential, and can be made by phone 6495 6330 or email info@wheelersoysters.com.au. A gorgeous hamper brimming with locally donated gifts and vouchers will be raffled on the day, and Geoff Willis will be playing requests on the piano, so it will be a beautiful afternoon for all. Dane’s Perth to Pambula run an achievement that will go down in history. This High Tea is the perfect opportunity to farewell Dane and Junee and wish them well!
Rotary Radio
Tune into your community radio station, 97.5 Sapphire FM on Friday mornings with Colin Dunn. At 8.30 Gav and Col peruse the News Weekly for the latest from around the traps. From 9, this week's Rotary Local Heroes include Stephen Dovey from NPWS. At 10 Peter Mitchell will be talking about his career in the forestry industry, among other things, then at 11, Lumen Christi College principal, Steven Centra, will be joined by teachers Wendy Mockler and two students, who'll discuss their Clean Water Project in the Philippines. Plenty of great listening, so tune in!
Eden Library
On Thursday, May 25 the Library will be enjoying storytime but this time with a musical edge. The Aurelia Quartet from the Australian National Academy of Music will be holding a musical storytime, all are invited.
On Tuesday, June 6 head to the library to Meet the Mayor. Mayor Kristy McBain will be there for morning tea to meet the community.
Lastly, come join the new group meeting at the library, the Eden Library Book Chat. The group meets on the first Friday of each month at 10.30am – 12pm. It is free and is an opportunity for community members to get together over a cuppa and chat about what they are reading and hear from others about their current reads.
