The first grade Tigers battled out a rough and tumble match against the Narooma Devils with tempers flaring and play breaking down a number of times, but Eden held enough composure to claim a 28-24 win.
Earlier, the Tigerettes played two league-tag matches and took a loss in the first round, but scored a close win in the second game soured by a brawl.
In the first grade outing, the Tigers were buoyed by the return of John Aldridge, who altered the kicking game drastically with some well placed bombs and accurate conversion attempts.
The Eden side was taking full control of the game early, but unfortunately was left a man-down as Toby Whitehead was binned for 10 minutes as play heated up.
Narooma tried to take advantage late in the first half, but tempers flared and a number of on-field incidents broke out late in the piece and early in the second half.
With the Tigers leading 14-4 at the break, Eden was ready for a rugged defence of its lead.
Tries to Robert Aratangi and Matt Farrell boosted the score which soon read 24-10.
In the dying stages it was Narooma staging a fight-back, but the kicking game let the team with a few missed conversion attempts as Eden held on to win by the four-point buffer.
The second league-tag game was also marred by violence as a brawl broke out in the final minute with Eden leading 14-10.
Tries had gone to Amber Kennedy, Rebecca Gray and Alexandra Spivey, while Sharnie Long had two big runs to keep CBU in the contest.
In their earlier clash, the Tigerettes went down by two points to the Narooma She-Devils with Lilly Bennett spearheading the attack.
“Bennett's speed and elusiveness proved the difference between two exciting, well matched teams,” Tigers president Michael Gandon said.
Eden caught up to, and then extended a lead with tries to Ebony Dykhoff-Darrington and Danielle Young before Amber Kennedy set up the final scoreline for the Tigerettes.
However, Bennett sliced through the line in the final minute, capitalising on an Eden short kick to steal the show 18-16.
The combined Bermagui-Cobargo-Eden under 18s were sadly outclassed in their match, but went ahead as the only game on the day without incident.
The Devils just had a bit too much speed and agility on the right edge, slipping through gaps to set up a big lead.
The portability Cobargo-Bermagui Eels also suffered a comprehensive loss, while a Candelo-Bemboka player was binned for striking.
This Sunday the Tigers travel to Mackay Park to play Batemans Bay.
