This Friday, March 31, the lads from 19-Twenty, up-and-coming youngsters the Swamp Stompers and well-known soloist Matt Southon will all be taking the stage for a night of fun, energetic live music.
The 19-Twenty lads have been performing their high-energy sonic-party nationally, headlining sell-out shows and festivals in all states and territories.
Constantly on the road or in the sky, they have toured seven times around Australia and performed gigs throughout Europe including Belgium, The Netherlands, France, and a suite of gigs in London (a highlight was a spell at the famous Alley Cat nightclub in SoHo).
Performing anywhere and everywhere, this straight-up 100 per cent independent act have been blazing throughout Europe and Australia and gaining new music fans/fiends from their live shows.
The Swamp Stompers play funky rock and blues with heavy grooves sounding like the musical lovechild of John Butler Trio, Led Zeppelin and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
While searing slide guitar, contrasting dual-lead vocals, catchy guitar riffs and dubstep inspired didgeridoo soundscapes give this original blues-rock band an irresistible flavour combination that will leave you with an insatiable hunger for more.
Founding members former Sapphire Coast local Corey Legge (guitar/lead vocals) and Mitch Broadhead (drums/backing vocals) set about building a monster, but they were missing one vital feature.
The lightning bolt of inspiration came early in the piece when bassist, vocalist and circular-breathing extraordinaire Luke Ligtenberg slithered into view, adding the final element to bring the three-pronged colossal to life.
Since then The Swamp Stompers have set about earning themselves a significant reputation as one of the most promising up-and-coming acts to emerge in recent years.
Matt Southon is a name that a lot of people now know after his fantastic, real bone grinding blues performance at the Darwin Blues Festival.
Matt delivered some of the best blues playing and story telling the audience had ever experienced.
He has been hailed as one of the best blues players around with his original take of the blues, he plays the blues the way it is meant to be played, with passion.
With a guttural, barbed-wire, wail and a guitar style crafted from dirt and the sticky mess of a hundred bar room floors, Matt Southon strangles life into the blues.
The men will be taking the stage from 8pm. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
