A new tree made of steel and rock has sprouted on Imlay St, Eden.
Richard Moffett’s award-winning sculpture ‘The Giving Tree’ was embedded into Eden’s main thoroughfare on the corner of Chandos St on Friday morning.
The artwork attracted plenty of looks from pedestrians and motorists alike, with one driver questioning who was going to water it.
The initial reception was positive, with onlookers commenting on its symbolism to the surrounding district and the piece not being too abstract.
Moffett’s three-metre artwork won the Bega Valley Shire Council's $10,000 Acquisitive Prize for Sculpture on the Edge last year.
BVSC community and culture manager Simon Schweitzer was on hand to oversee the installation and was happy with its position in the town.
