Lifesavers and Nippers from as far north as Batemans Bay will descend on Pambula this weekend as the local surf lifesaving club hosts two days of surf competition.

The Pambula Surf Life Saving Club will hos a senior surf carnival on Saturday followed by a Junior (Nipper) competition on Sunday.
The carnivals will attract competitors from Batemans Bay, Broulee, Moruya, Narooma, Bermagui, Tathra and Pambula Surf Life Saving Clubs.
Pambula competition co-ordinator and Nippers president, Andrew Holt, said the weekend was panning out to be a good one with good surf and ocean conditions, while warm water was predicted to provide optimal conditions for both senior and junior competitors.
“We have been to carnivals at Narooma and the Country Championships in recent weeks and our lifesavers and juniors have been mixing it with the best and producing great results which is great to see,” Holt said.
He said Pambula Nippers and cadets had been undergoing extra training over recent weeks and the seniors had been working on fitness in surf boats and surf ski and board training getting ready for the weekend.
“We are looking forward to a great weekend of junior and senior competition and of course everyone is welcome to come along and witness a great Australian surf carnival,” He said.
The senior carnival will kick off at lunch-time Saturday, while the Nippers carnival starts at 8.30am with a team managers meeting then competition starting at 9am. There will be a barbecue running and refreshments on hand for spectators.
