The Eden lawn bowling greens endured some scorching conditions this week for social play and the opening round of the district triples.

Just eight players braved the extremely hot conditions on Tuesday at the greens to play two games of pairs.
Winners were John McKinnon and Venetia Thompson with 7 shots up.
The club also held the opening round of the Bega-Imlay District Women’s Bowling Association triples champion on the day.
Officials said play was solid, but became increasingly difficult as the mercury soared even higher in the afternoon.
The Tura Beach team led by J Joslin was the first to advance into second round play after pipping one of the Eden combinations.
The second match saw a Merimbula contingent going through with C Chase’s side advancing with a close win over Win Cameron’s outfit.
Eden has a team in the semi-finals to be played at Tathra Beach WBC on Thursday 19/1.
The Eden combination led by H Wilesmith will advance directly to the semi-finals after their opposition was forced to withdraw.
The semi-finals are being held today (Thursday) at the Tathra Beach Bowling Club with a number of teams still in contention.
The finals will run next week with a venue to be announced.
Organisers said the club was delighted to have a team going through, but were also happy hosting regular social play rounds.
The ladies play socials on Tuesdays and new members are always welcome to join in the fun.
