P&O’s Pacific Jewel returned to the Port of Eden today with 1931 passengers and 660 crew. It was filled with families with around 20 per cent of passengers under the age of 18. Around 88 per cent of the passengers were from Victoria.
“This is offering huge future tourism potential,” Ms Meers said.
“They are all only getting a taste of Eden, just scratching the surface so all the volunteers were reinforcing how close Eden is to Victoria and everyone was saying how much they would love to see the tourists return.”
Victorian passengers Shane and Paula Sutton both said they would love to return to Eden.
“Why wouldn’t you come back?” Shane said.
Ms Meers said there was a high disembarkment rate with almost every tender was full. A number of bus tours left from Eden taking passengers around town and up to Pambula and Merimbula.
