South East Arts have on offer two educational bursaries for aspiring local film and television writers from the Eurobodalla, Snowy Monaro and Bega Valley local government areas.

Screenwriters are encouraged to apply for free enrolment in one of two online screenwriting courses, courtesy of South East Arts, from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). Each course begins in January and continues for a period of ten weeks. These highly regarded online courses are perfect for regionally-based writers. The winners of the bursaries can undertake these courses completely free of charge.
As part of their Regional Screen Industry Strategy – known as SEA Screen, South East Arts is pleased to present this opportunity as the organisation continues to build the screen industry capability and networks within the region.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone who has considered writing for the screen as a profession, or even any writer who thinks their story has potential to make it to the big or small screen,” said Andrew Gray, General Manager of South East Arts.
“We have a strong tradition of great writers and stories originating from this region, this is a fabulous chance for aspiring screenwriters to tell their story and hone their craft,” he said.
To apply, writers should email their one page original story outline, for film or television, along with their resume and contact information to seainfo@southeastarts.org.au by 5pm Friday, December 9.
Applicants must be 18 years or over. Winners of the bursaries will be notified by email and/or phone by 5pm Monday, December 12.
