PCYC Far South Coast manager Gary Traynor said the event has been boiled up to provide young trick or treaters with a safe place to enjoy the fun of Halloween without having to knock on strangers’ doors.
The monster mash will be taking place on Friday night, October 28, between the witching hours of 6pm to 8pm.
As part of the lead up to the event the PCYC got in touch with local primary schools to run a craft competition. The class that provides the best Halloween inspired decorations will win either a bubble soccer or a junior jedi session which Mr Traynor described as “good old fashioned sward fighting with lightsabers, flying discs, dodgeball, and gymnastics”.
Lumen Year 12 students Joe Carton and Cooper Salisbury will DJ with help from Krystal Vas from Power FM. Sapphire Coast Rotaract has also jumped on board to help out.
The disco is aimed for primary school kids but if there are four-year-olds or toddlers that want to be involved they are more than welcome but their parents are asked to stay to help supervise.
Tickets are $7.50 and include drinks, lollies and a PCYC club membership for a year which allows you to participate in any activities that the PCYC runs.
Gary Traynor said they chose to run the disco for young kids because they are hosting an Amazing Race in Eden for high school students.
