“The first is a story-time and craft session to celebrate the change of seasons,” Ms Burr said on Tuesday.
“Our theme is Spring, and we will be sharing Spring stories and craft. It’s aimed for younger children, aged 5 to 12 years, and kids can take home their very own daisy plant to put in their garden.”
On Wednesday October 5, fellow librarian Kate Liston is offering a Biting Writing workshop for older children aged 8 to 12, with a theme of ‘delicious’ inspired by the children’s favourite sensory experiences.
The workshop will focus on narrative, traditional and contemporary plots, and use of voice and tone in writing.
“Then on Thursday October 6 we have a kite-making session, focusing on a kite festival in Japan and featuring kite stories,” Ms Burr said.
Bookings are essential for the writing and kite-making workshops, and can be done online at: begavalleyshirelibrary.eventbrite.com.au
