Officials said training for the under 12s and under 15s would start Wednesday at 4pm with both squads training together before heading to separate training sessions in the coming weeks.
“All new players are welcome, while our under 10s will get started in a few weeks,” a spokesman for the club said.
The spokesman said regular updates would be posted on the club’s Facebook page for anyone interested.
Meanwhile, trials for the Southern Zone rep teams will be held this weekend in Bega, with matches 8.30-10am for under 12s, 10-11.30am for under 14s and under 16s to run from 11.30-1pm.
A number of Eden juniors will contest the Kooka Cup early next month.
“Congratulations to all our players going,” the spokesman said.
“To have nine players from Eden out of a regional team of 12 players is awesome.
“This is a talented young side and these will be the first steps into rep cricket for some of them over the next month.”
Officials expected that most of the Eden players would also be selected in the Southern Zone rep carnival team for the under 12s.
“Players like Joey Elton, Jemma Pollock, Xavier Bowes, Rahul and Lawrie Mudaliar and Noah Martin will all have the opportunity to follow the initial steps of Jessie Mudaliar, Morgan Thornton and Corey Spink who have all moved on to higher representative honours,” the spokesman said.
Jessie Mudaliar is continuing her good form with selection in the under 15 girls ACT/Southern side to contest the NSW country championships in Tamworth.
Jessie will form part of a handy new ball bowling partnerships with Canberra lefty Julia Bassett, both of whom were among the quickest bowlers at the recent indoor national titles.
Bega’s Jade Allen and Janet King will also be leading all rounders in a strong side.
The spokesman said it was a good reward for Jessie and Jade, who had been training together every Sunday in Canberra.
A NSW Country side will be selected from the carnival which joins the NSW Metro side in the National Titles next year.
In senior news, Eden’s Corey Spink and Matt Bell both played major roles in the Darwin Cricket Club’s back-to-back premierships.
