The Women’s Club had championships rounds and also hosted its annual Eden Shield competition recently.
The club’s major-minor pairs championship was decided on Tuesday with Elaine Wright and Brenda McLachlan winning over Marie Cameron and Venetia Thompson 26-6.
Meanwhile, the earlier Eden Shield competition pits Eden against visiting bowlers with 16 teams taking part from Bega, Bombala, Merimbula, Tathra and Tura to chase down the coveted trophy.
Officials said conditions were perfect for a round of bowls and entrants enjoyed a two-round format of 15 ends apiece.
The team of Robyn Burke, Jeanette Armitt and Shirley Britton were convincing winners for Tathra Beach to steal the shield away.
The Eden team of Elaine Wright, Brenda McLachlan and Jane Field were runners-up.
Organisers were pleased with the turn-out and welcomed the support of Chris Wilson Real Estate who sponsored the day.
Officials said it was great to see the rinks full of various club colours with players enjoying their rounds on the day.
Social bowls was also held on Tuesday with 12 bowlers playing two games of triples.
Winners on the day were Phyllis Cole, Ken Essenhigh (Wangaratta visitor) and Andrew Thompson.
Organisers said the greens are in great shape as the club looks to host this year’s Bega-Imlay District Women’s Veterans’ Day on Friday when 65 veterans take to the greens.
