This is the fourth year Mr and Mrs Robinson have been part of the Cancer Council’s major fundraiser, and on Friday the couple will be outside Coles, Imlay Street, between 9am and 3.30pm selling daffodils, teddy bears, pins and other merchandise.
Since its inception, Daffodil Day has raised more than $133m for life-saving cancer research, support services and prevention programs.
This year the Cancer Council hopes to raise $6.7m nationally, including $2.6m in NSW; in 2015, Mr and Mrs Robinson handed $800 to the Cancer Council on behalf of Eden residents.
Cancer Council community engagement coordinator Grant Plecas said it was especially important for Eden residents to get behind Daffodil Day following the decision to cancel the 2016 Bega Valley Relay for Life.
Stars of the Bega Valley Dance for Cancer would go ahead again in 2017, he said.
