Freya has deferred her final year of a pharmacy degree to concentrate on cracking the top 17 of the women’s premier surfing event, the World Surf League.
After a good start to the year in the Australian events at Manly and Avoca beaches, the next leg was competition in Mexico, El Salvadore and the USA.
Proud dad, Dean Prumm, said unfortunately exceptional results eluded her during the rounds, but said it was incredible to watch his daughter first-hand competing in some truly monstrous swells.
“In El Salvadore, massive swell and excellent conditions presented delivering perfect once in a lifetime waves of epic proportion,” he said.
“Freya was an absolute standout stepping up to the occasion and taking the biggest waves from way inside the point impressing the locals, other surfers and spectators alike.”

Travelling by car from El Salvador through Honduras and on to Nicaragua was eventful with many more exceptional waves on offer.
Freya then spent two weeks in Costa Rica before the last competition of the trip at Oceanside pier near Los Angeles, California.
Freya has just left for France and from there will also compete in Spain, the Azores islands and Morocco.
