Fledgling recorder players from a number of Bega Valley public schools are heading to the Sydney Opera House next month, with the SCLC concert next week in Bega a practice-run.

The Combined Schools’ Recorder Ensemble includes pupils from Towamba Public School, Bega Valley PS, Bemboka PS, Candelo PS, Cobargo PS, Merimbula PS and Quaama PS.
They will perform one of their recorder recital pieces as a combined group at the SCLC Performing Arts Festival next Tuesday August 2, which also showcases other school performances including choirs, bands and dance.
The recorder ensemble will then perform in the nationally lauded Festival of Instrumental Music Opera House Concert series on August 22, 23 and 24.
