Nethercote seasonal produce market celebrated its 30th market on Saturday. Ellen Soroka, daughter of market organiser, Karen Lott, was home from university in Sweden, and made a spectacular celebration cake.

In the kitchen, Amanda Stroud gave a cooking demonstration of pastie making and showed that pasties don’t have to be meat and vegies with a delicious alternative containing chorizo, pumpkin and cheese.
Among the stallholders, first timer, Cici Legoe, from Candelo’s Wheatley Lane Bakery, was delighted. Long before the market had finished she had just one loaf remaining.
In the courtyard, the Paul Dion Trio kept everyone’s feet tapping as shoppers enjoyed coffee and some of the produce on offer.
