Essential Energy detected a fault at 8.30pm and isolated supply to the area. Crews from Bega identified the cause as a tree contacting powerlines in Reservoir Road, Eden.
Supply was restored at 2.36am once repairs had been completed.
Local crews also responded to a number of smaller outages in Merimbula, Nethercote, Millingandi and Wolumla.
Essential Energy’s regional manager Steven Ilitch said people need to be cautious of powerlines on windy days and to stay eight metres away from damaged powerlines.
“Always treat powerlines as live and remember that anything in contact with them, such as cars, trees or fences, can conduct electricity and pose a danger,” Mr Ilitch said.
