Over two glittering evenings, 31 debutantes and their partners attended the Eden Combined Churches Debutantes Ball, on June 17 and 18 at the Eden Fishermen’s Club.

Organised by a committee of David Boulton, Flo Young, Ruth Fletcher and Pam Inwood, all of Eden, the event incorporated all the traditions of a debutantes ball including dancing and being presented to special guests, Archdeacon of the South Coast Carol Wagner, parishioner of the Eden Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Monica Wood, Rector of the Anglican Parish of the Sapphire Coast, Lou Oakes (Friday) and Deacon Anthony Frost (Saturday).
Mrs Inwood Organiser, Ms Inwood said that the two large groups had been absolutely amazing.
“They are a wonderful group of young people. It was a wonderful occasion and they all looked absolutely beautiful,” a delighted Ms Inwood said.
Flower girl Erin Flint and her brother, and page boy Stuart Flint, of Eden, attended on both evenings.
