NSW Health Pathology has announced that between June 27 and August 8, the Eden collection service will be open Tuesdays and Fridays only, from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
During this six-week period, Pathology West staff based at the South East Regional Hospital, Bega, will travel to Eden two days a week to provide a collection service for the Eden community.
GPs have been advised of the temporary changes and signs have been posted for the public.
The Eden collection centre will resume normal operating hours, – 8.30am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – on August 8.
Eden residents have rallied to save the free pathology service, which operates out of the Eden Community Health Centre, after it was revealed that NSW Health Pathology was reviewing its operations.
