The pair brought with them 15 warm floor mats for the students to sit on during reading classes, 23 new library bags and two rugs.
The floor mats were made from squares knitted and crocheted by patients waiting to see doctors at the Pambula Medical Centre.
Yarn for the project was donated by Pambula resident Pat Ingram.
VIEW Club members Margaret Speight and Betty Cochrane knitted the two large colourful rugs, one of which will be used in the school’s sick bay while the other will be a raffle prize.
Mrs Stephenson said the club chose Wyndham Public to be the recipient of the gifts because it was a relatively small and isolated school that was in need of assistance.
“Merimbula Evening VIEW Club has made 200 library bags in total,” she said, adding that schools in Merimbula and Wolumla had also benefitted from the club’s generosity.
During their visit to the school, Mrs Stephenson and Mrs Barker were also shown the Stephanie Alexander garden and kitchen, where the students and helpers were preparing artichoke and kale pizzas followed by a rhubarb dessert to enjoy for their lunch.
World Environment Expo
Wyndham Public School students have been busy making recycled projects for its World Environment Day Expo on Thursday, June 9, from 2pm to 3.30pm, in the school’s library.

Peter Law from the Mumbulla Foundation cut the ribbon to the newly renovated kitchen.

Mind Tenants at Towamba
The Mind Tenants rocked a crowd of 70 people at the Towamba Hall on Saturday night, May 28 supported by one-man band Heath Marshall.
Heath Marshall opened the gig with a confident, foot-stomping boogie, swapped instruments to perform an amazing variety of rock-blues and delivered a virtuoso’s set of good times.
The Mind Tenants dubbed the gig their “Land that Time Forgot” tour. This was both apt and amusing in several ways; the tour includes only one gig, and it really seemed like a trip back in time.
Guitarist Josh Dorrough explained that the drummer lives nearby, which makes the hall convenient for rehearsals. Since the neighborhood had heard them practicing, it seemed fair that they should get to see them live.
Drummer Brett Matthews not only plays solid rhythm, he’s a talented luthier who made guitars and basses used on stage, and had several other magnificent instruments on display.
Frontman Phil Dodds described the Mind Tenants as “a pretty political band, with a big attitude”.
They can be described as progressive rock; complex rock rhythms and melodies that give depth, groove and wonder to cerebral singing and storytelling.
The Mind Tenants can both get you up and jumping around, and have you laying back stupefied by their talent and originality.
They played an impressive set of mostly original music, with songs from their first album and ones that they plan to record soon.
