New Whale Festival sponsor Sydney Ports Corporation, have committed $5000 sponsorship towards this year’s Eden Whale Festival fireworks.
The fireworks will make a welcome return to this annual celebration of the town’s unique relationship with whales on the Saturday evening at the spectacular Snug Cove venue.
Sydney Ports’ chief executive officer Grant Gilfillan, said he is pleased the corporation was able to support this significant community event.
“The Port of Eden is important to us and plays an important role on the state’s south coast – supporting events like this better connects us to the local community and Sydney Ports wishes all involved in this worthy event to enjoy the fireworks display,” Mr Gilfillan said.
Festival chair Gordon Beattie is thrilled with the support.
“Sydney Ports Corporation were very quick to jump on board and help us out and we are anticipating a great crowd of people down at Snug Cove that night.
“It’s always great to feel the buzz of the family atmosphere down there on festival night,” he said.
The fireworks will kick off from the end of the breakwater wharf as soon as it is dark enough, around 8.15pm on Saturday, November 3. Everyone should have plenty of vantage points to choose from along the beautiful Snug Cove foreshore and from the other wharves.
Festival committee members and volunteers will be kitted out with Sydney Ports caps throughout the festival so if you need to know something, they’ll be easily recognisable.
