The policy of the CWA is debated at its annual conference, which this year will be held in Cowra. Close to 1000 delegates, members, observers and visitors are expected to descend on the town from May 2-5. The conference will be officially opened by CWA joint patrons Governor of NSW General David Hurley and his wife Linda.
This will be the last annual conference for Tanya Cameron in her role as state president. She reinforced how important the conference is to members as a mechanism to bring the organisation’s issues to the fore.
“We are such a diverse organisation and we can certainly see that in the motions coming forward for debate from across the state. They will include important topics such as rural crime, climate change, women’s health, teacher professional development and coal seam gas,” Ms Cameron said.
