We're so grateful to all those people who took the time out to nominate, and there's been a great broad cross section of people and groups/businesses nominated this year, which is just fantastic to see

While the awards process will now go into judging mode, the focus has moved to the gala awards dinner to be held on Saturday, February 27, at the Eden Fishermen's Recreation Club.
Tickets are now on sale from Hair Lamartine, Eden Gas and Gear and e2b Phone Repair. The price of $65 (for Business Chamber members) or $75 (non-members) includes a sumptuous three-course dinner, drinks on arrival and entertainment.
Kimmy Saker will be the MC for the evening with a broadcast going live on 2EC. Layal (Mia Soroka) will provide pre-dinner entertainment.
Excellence in Eden Business Awards 2016 organising committtee member Clair Mudaliar said the response to the awards had been “overwhelming” and she thanked everyone who had taken the time to nominate.
Ms Mudaliar said the inclusion of two new awards categories – one for less than 20 employees and one for 20-plus employees – gave businesses from the local area great exposure at a state level and the chance to go onto Sydney for a gala dinner at the end of the year.
“Last year numerous businesses from the Merimbula Business Awards were lucky enough to win and progress to a state level, so this is now Eden’s chance to shine,” she said.
Ms Mudaliar thanked Regional Express Airlines, which has provided two return tickets from Merimbula to Melbourne or Sydney, which will be drawn on the night as a lucky door prize.
“The community is reminded that you don't have to be nominated or a business owner to come along and enjoy the evening - everyone is welcome,” she said.
