The popular Imlay Street eatery and produce outlet has been nominated in the customer service (business) category of the Excellence in Eden Business Awards 2016.
Owner Karen Lott said she was delighted with the nomination and proud of her staff, especially the way they worked through what has been an extremely busy holiday season.
Ms Lott said the cafe's reputation for excellent service was reflected in reviews posted on the online website Trip Advisor, with many customers commenting on the efficient and friendly service.
Sprout opened in 2012 and was nominated for a business award when they were last held two years ago.
Ms Lott said the awards were a wonderful incentive for all businesses and that it was a "real thrill" to have been nominated, regardless of whether they ultimately won.
Excellence in Eden Business Awards 2016 organising committee member Clair Mudaliar said the closing date for the business awards was looming and encouraged the community to nominate for the people’s choice awards to give credit to those who have gone above and beyond.
Two new categories, recognising excellence in small business (for businesses with less than 20 employees) and excellence in business (more than 20 employees), are included this year.
Business owners are required to complete an entry form for these categories which is available to download from www.oureden.com.au or can be picked up at e2b Phone Repair, Hair Lamartine or Eden Gas and Gear.
The winners of these two categories automatically progress to the regional awards and possibly at state level.
Nominations and entries close on February 5. Winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner at the Eden Fishermen’s Recreation Club on February 27. Tickets go on sale soon.
I'm delighted to have been nominated for an Eden business award. It's great for business and it's great for staff.
