Guideline South Coast project coordinator Sue Matthews said the Great Southern Inn publican agreed to make changes to accommodate the work.
“The drive through bottle shop will remain open but will only have access from the rear of the building,” Ms Matthews said.
“This measure will be in place for the entire week to allow the concrete to become hard enough to drive on.”
Ms Matthews said staff of the Great Southern Inn will be at hand to help customers carry their purchases to their cars, and also advises that the front doors of the pub will be closed requiring pedestrian access either from the Chandos Street entrance or from the rear.
Meanwhile, the concrete crew are completing the footpath from Chandos Street corner to the IMB, and will be spending the next week working on garden beds and kerbs.
“Again, we thank business owners for their support in assisting us to make as rapid progress as possible,” Ms Matthews said.
