Four cars spin out
Slippery road conditions on Sunday caused four cars to lose control and crash within 100 metres of each other over three hours just north of Eden.
Police said light rain had brought diesel to the surface on the corner at the start of the overtaking lane heading north on Eden’s outskirts.
Between 12.25pm and 3.40pm on Sunday, the four vehicles hit the slippery patch and oversteered into the bank on the left side of the road.
No injuries were reported, although each of the vehicles required towing from the scene.
The northbound lane was closed four 45 minutes while an RTA crew put oil retardant on the road to prevent further accidents.
Pickin Chicken damaged before fire
Just over a week before the business was gutted by fire, Pickin Chicken was subjected to malicious damage when the glass front door of the business was smashed.
The incident occurred between Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9.
Tyres slashed in Calle Calle Street
A car parked in Calle Calle Street, Eden, was attacked between Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9.
Police said all four tyres were slashed and a liquid chemical was thrown over the blue sedan, and are asking for people with information about the attack to come forward.
Art window smashed
Police are appealing for information to aid their investigation into malicious damage committed on the Art on Imlay premises between Sunday, September 16 and Monday, September 17.
A sliding glass door at the front of the premises was smashed. People with information should contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Holiday rental break in
A holiday rental in Fishermans Court, Eden, was targeted by thieves twice in a week.
Police said the house was broken into on September 5 and thieves again tried to jimmy open a sliding door on September 11.
Nothing was stolen in either attack, but police are requesting anyone with information to contact them.
Domestic assault
A 37-year-old Eden man was arrested on Monday, September 10 and 10pm and charged with one count of domestic assault and one count of malicious damage.
He appeared in court where bail was refused and a protection order was issued against him before he reappeared before the magistrate and was fined and placed on a good behaviour bond.
Eden man blows .143
A 50-year-old Eden man was arrested and charged with mid-range drink driving after he was pulled over by police in Calle Calle Street at 7pm on September 7.
Further testing showed the man had a blood-alcohol reading of .143, nearly three times the legal limit.
Sixty grams of cannabis was also found in the vehicle and the man will now face possession charges at Eden court.
Police assaulter arrested
The 50-year-old Eden man who had been charged with assaulting police was again arrested on warrant after failing to appear before court.
Police arrested the man in an Eden car park on September 6 at 4pm. Bail was refused and he was presented at court.
