Organisers said there were a good number of “old goldies” in the pool, but also exciting news of some new swimmers.
Melina Caldwell will again head up the club, while Brent Dunne will serve as vice-president.
Kristen Vermazen will be treasurer, while Alycia Collins is the club secretary and Therese Nicoll heads up publicity for the club.
The committee said it welcomed any interested swimmer to join in the fun and friendly weekly meetings.
Interested swimmers are able to try out for two weeks with no obligation to join.
The club meets on Mondays from 5.45pm and runs until 7pm with a barbecue after each meet.
“It’s all about improving your techniques and personal best times in a friendly and supportive environment,” Nicoll said.
The club holds races from 10 metres to 50 metres and caters for swimmers who compete up to 200 metres.
Organisers said the weather was unkind on the first night with rain dampening the outing, but it didn’t bother the kids.
Meanwhile, parents were sent skittering for cover, while the time keepers got a bit wet.
