And Emily's sister, Krista Dodsworth, who donated her kidney for the life-saving operation, flew home to Eden yesterday to recuperate.
Family friend and fundraiser, Jasmine Davis, told the Magnet on Tuesday that Krista was discharged from RPA to an accommodation unit close to the hospital last Saturday - four days after the operation.
"(Her partner) Monte (Thomsen) bought their children, Laurie and Oden, for a visit," Ms Davis said.
"They were so excited to see their mum.
"They had to stand at Emily's doorway to say hello as she has to be careful not to catch anything.
"Krista is flying home to Eden on Wednesday where she will recuperate," she said.
Emily was discharged to the unit - which is only metres from the RPA - on Monday, where she is staying with her mother, Christine de Groot, and (Emily's) partner, Stuart Carroll.
"She has been doing well, the doctors will monitor Emily as an out patient," Ms Davis said.
"Emily's doctors want her near RPA for a month."
From Sydney, Emily will go to Canberra where she will stay with childhood friend Brodie Jarvis.
"She needs to be near a major hospital to be monitored," Ms Davis said.
Youngest sister Lindsie is travelling to Sydney to see Emily on Friday.
